I can't believe how much has happened since my return from the ACFW Conference in September! In early October, I received the email every writer dreams of !!
But let me back track a bit.
I had 3 manuscripts under consideration with White Rose Publishing. It was past the date I expected to hear back from them, but I was busy revising another story. "Once this is done", I thought, "I'll contact White Rose and see where things stand". It was a Wednesday afternoon and as I sat typing away, a notification appeared on the corner of my screen. I noticed the name and froze, realizing it was from the editor-in-chief of White Rose. I debated with myself for a few minutes as to whether I should open it right away or wait. If it was bad news, then my momentum for the story I was working on would be shot. Soon I realized it didn't matter - I couldn't concentrate anyway!
So I opened it and the first thing I read was "At this time, I can't offer you a contract for all three books." My heart fell. Then I read, "I would like to offer you a contract for two of the books." I happy danced around the kitchen and called my husband at work. What a wonderful day!
After several rounds of edits and two title changes, I now have the cover of my first book.
"Betrayed Hearts" will be released sometime in 2014 (date to be announced). And now here is my beautiful cover, with many thanks to Nicola Martinez, the talented cover designer. Hope you like it as much as I do!!
